These boutiques specialise in high conviction or absolute return strategies. In 2011, Ascalon was awarded Best Investor Supporting Australian Managers at the Australian Hedge Fund Awards.
Ascalon is a 100% owned subsidiary of Westpac Banking Corporation.

Andrew Landman
CEO
Andrew leads a small team focused on helping Ascalon's partner firms grow. Andrew is on the board of Ascalon and sits on the boards of each of Ascalon's boutiques. Prior to Ascalon, Andrew was the CFO of the Challenger Funds Management. Andrew started his career at Bankers Trust where he worked extensively across the operations side of funds management. He has 17 years industry experience. Andrew is on the board of ambassadors of SurfAid - a non-profit humaritarian organisation (www.surfaidinternational.org).
Nelson Lam
Head of Investments

Nelson is responsible for identifying potential partnerships and running the due diligence and investment process. He also runs Ascalon's seed pool and looks after the ongoing relationship with Ascalon's partners and our operational service providers. Nelson joined Ascalon in 2005. He previously worked at the Commonwealth Bank and SingTel Optus. He has over 16 years industry experience.
Jason Collins

Jason works closely with our boutique partners and is responsible for sales, marketing and consultant/researcher relationships across the group. Jason started his funds management career in the sales and marketing department of Bankers Trust Funds Management. He later spent over five years as a Director of Communications and Marketing at Deutsche Bank in Singapore. Jason has 13 years experience in funds management and investment banking. Jason is on the board of ambassadors of SurfAid - a non-profit humaritarian organisation (www.surfaidinternational.org).
Chuak Chan

Chuak joined Westpac Hong Kong in 2011 to help apply for the relevant SFC licenses for Ascalon Capital Managers (Asia). Chuak will be appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Ascalon Asia once licensed. In this role Chuak will develop offshore distribution and source new partnerships ex-Australia. Chuak started his career at a Chartered Accounting firm in 1985 before moving to Bankers Trust in 1988. He joined ING Investment Management in 1998 where he had roles in sales and marketing and as Chief Risk Officer for Asia Pacific. In 2007 he co-founded a hedge fund in Hong Kong and served as Chief Operating Officer until February 2011. Chuak has 23 years experience in investment management.
Samantha Osman
Head of Legal, Compliance and Operations
Samantha sets our legal, operating and compliance policies, ensuring Ascalon and its partners operate in accordance with their regulatory obligations and comply to an institutional standard as prescribed by Ascalon and our clients. Prior to Ascalon, Samantha worked at BTIM, Perennial and ASIC. She has eight years financial services and corporate experience.
Glenn Dunn
Head of Finance
Glenn is the financial controller of Ascalon. He works closely with each of our boutique firms and their respective accounting firms/auditors. With 20 years experience, Glenn has held major roles at GIO Asset Management as Corporate and Fund Accounting Manager and as Financial Controller for a number of St George Bank Wealth businesses.
Richard Hardman

Richard works with our partner firms in helping them achieve their ambitions in the institutional market. Richard is a qualified economist. He started his career at the Commonwealth Treasury and followed with long stints at Bain and AMP. He has over 30 years of fund management experience.
Dale Robertson
Wholesale/Retail Business Manager

Dale works with our partner firms in helping them achieve their ambitions within the platform, licensee and financial adviser segments. Dale is a qualified financial planner and worked in practice management at AXA Australia. He has 12 years experience in financial services.
Adeline Siew
Operations Manager
Adeline is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Ascalon’s investment vehicles and the relationship with HSBC - the administrator and custodian of Ascalon’s partner firms. Prior to joining Ascalon, Adeline was at BT Financial group where she primarily worked within fund accounting. Adeline has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.
